Personal Information:
– Social Security Number (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for you, your
spouse (if applicable), and dependents.
– Bank account information for direct deposit of any refund.
Income Documents:
– W-2 Forms from your employer(s) showing earned income.
1099 Forms for other income (self-employment, freelance, dividends, retirement
income, etc.):
o 1099-NEC for independent contractor work.
o 1099-INT for interest income.
o 1099-DIV for dividends.
o 1099-G for unemployment benefits or state tax refunds.
o 1099-R for retirement plan distributions.
– K-1 Forms for income from partnerships, S-corporations, estates, or trusts.
– Self-employed income: Any records or invoices showing business income.
– Rental income: Documentation of rental income and expenses.
Deductions & Credits:
– Student loan interest: 1098-E form showing the interest paid.
– Mortgage interest: 1098 form showing interest paid on your home loan.
– Property taxes: Receipts or documents related to real estate taxes.
– Charitable contributions: Receipts or records of donations made.
– Medical expenses: If itemizing, include receipts for out-of-pocket medical expenses.
– Childcare expenses: Documents related to childcare costs for potential credits.
– Education expenses: Forms such as 1098-T for tuition, and records of any qualified
educational expenses.
– Retirement account contributions: Proof of contributions to retirement accounts like
IRAs or 401(k)s.
Other Important Documents:
– Previous year’s tax return (if applicable, for reference).
– Estimated tax payments made during the year (if self-employed or required to make
quarterly payments).
– Proof of identity: A driver’s license, or other government-issued ID.
– Health insurance forms: 1095-A, 1095-B, or 1095-C if applicable, showing proof of

Small Business:
